I have a German blood line GSD puppy that just turned 3 months, he is 30# growing fast but solid and not fat at all actually he is lean and muscular.....
But he seems to be teething, his ears went flat, he is chewing on everything and he is a bit crazy wild at times out of the blue...Is it possible for him be teething at this age?
My now-5-month-old puppy has finished teething by the time he turned 5 months.
I was finding teeth (on the floor) when he was just turned 4 months if I remember correctly. At 3 months, his adult teeth are probably just starting to move. (I think).
Also, chewing is normal puppy behaviour - my dog is no longer teething and I still have to take things, including my flesh, out of his mouth every 5 minutes.
My GSD lost her milk teeth around 5 or 6 monthes, which I think is normal for most dogs. Three monthes sounds a little early but each dog is different. Among the many things you can give him to chew on, wet down a few old washclothes and freeze them for your dog to chew on.
I hope this isnt a terrible hijack, if it is just ignore me
I know of a dog that still has almost all its baby teeth, the are small and have turned black but still coming out of the same hole in the gums as the adult teeth. the dog went through teething normaly but is now 1 year old. I suppose this isnt something that will remedy itself; will they have to be removed?
It's normal for dogs to start teething about 3 months and all adult teeth should be in by 6 months.
If deciduous (baby) teeth fail to fall out by 6 - 8 months they should be removed to prevent the adult teeth from growing in wrong and also because double teeth hold a lot of junk and can lead to decay.
