Has anyone noticed that there are more and more ads for puppies?
I placed an ad in our local paper and there are all kinds of ads now from all over the country.
Last time we had a litter (a year ago), it was just local and I had homes for all of my pups by 8 weeks. Now, it seems there is more competition with people from all over.
Just wondered if anyone else had the same thing going on in their local papers. This is especially true with an online search of the classifieds.
It is especially bad with the pet stores and puppy mills/designer dog breeders.
Most of the ads in my local paper are advertising more than one breed, as well.
The worst was trying to find homes for a litter of rescue pups I had. Everyone wanted their chi-poos and Lhasa-Malteses and I had 80lb dogs of unknown ancestry. They were fantastic dogs, but finding them a good home was SO hard.
Yeah, I noticed there were a ton of the designer dogs in our paper...so weird though...just a year ago, there weren't so many.
I have a feeling I will still have some puppies at 8 weeks old...doesn't help that she had a large litter of 10.
