3 Days ago I purchased a Belgian Malinois which is 5 months old. She has not had any formal training or socializing. The first thing I am doing is socializing the S*&T out of her. I was wondering if you guys could give me some opinions on where and what to start training? I mostly want her for personal protection and may like SCH.I am new to dog sports so I dont know jack. Any suggestions on what video to start with and what stage of training should we be at with this age? Thanks
Ed's tape, BASIC DOG OBEDIENCE #302 is a good place to start. I just got it and presently going to use only Ed's tapes on a 7 month GDS female. I have been having very good success so far. My problem is staying focused on using only Ed's tape. Old habits are sometimes hard to break. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

At the risk of sounding like a smart ass ( that has never stopped me from saying anything before) start at teh begining. refer to my remarks under "training in drive.." simplicity and foundation are key.
