Sarah Snape Webboard User Reg: 03-03-2008 Posts: 48 Loc: Offline	I i just recieved my new prong collar today. It was larger then i thought, rather chunky so took some links out of it. He has a 19 inch neck so i took amount out to fit him. he has 6 barb links left in it? is this enough?

More important is that the collar fits high and snug around the dog's neck. Did you get the quick-release one, or do you have to connect the links together to get on?

Sarah Snape Webboard User Reg: 03-03-2008 Posts: 48 Loc: Offline	No it only has 4 links! grr does that matter? Also my dog has a short rather scruffy neck. so he has like an elvis hair-do. It cant sit directly behind his ears, but sits in the middle of his neck. is this ok?

Four prongs doesn't sound like enough to be effective. It does need to be behind his ears and under his jaw. That's also where you take the measurement for the prong. It needs to be snug so it will stay in that position.
