I received a PM about contacting SYSCO foods about what they can order and prices. I thought maybe more of you could use the link provided below.
The link is to a store locater map and when you click on the state it comes up with location, address and phone numbers to the stores closest to you.
The one I use will deliver my order to one of the stores that uses them here in town and I just leave a check for them at the store. Or, if I am up there I just pick it up.
I am not sure when it was last updated as they do not show the one in my state so you may shoot them an email asking if there is one in your state if it shows there is not. They answered me within a day.

I always thought of Sysco as prepackaged canned food, mixes, etc for restraunts, school cafetarias, etc. I must not be educated on exactly what they can and do provide.
What do you typically order from them and why them vs local butcher or store?

I order cases of chicken backs and necks, turkey necks and organ meat.
It is considerably cheaper for me to buy by the case with 6 dogs. I think it is cheaper all the way around too, but have not looked into smaller size packages.
They can also get lamb and things that are hard to find as well.
I am in a really small town so my meat is limited here as well as the bigger grocery stores two hours away. They can order in some stuff, but it is more expensive than restaurant supply stores for me.

Hi, can I ask how much you have to pay for a case of organ meat; and would they let you pick it up, do you think? Im assuming that it would be similar for me...
(They have a meat cutting etc place close to my area)

I would have to look but it usually works out to like $0.38 cents a pound.
I have to say, unless you have as many dogs as I do, I would buy by the package. It is A LOT of organ meat and my preference is not to let it sit in the freezer forever. One or two dogs is not enough IMHO to buy by the case as far as organ meat goes.
(the other thing is, usually I talk with management of where I buy from and after I have ordered from them for a while and they know I am going to be a regular, some discounts pop up....not sure if that works everywhere, but it does for me. I think the fact that they are SAR dogs helps as well.... )

I would ask where the nearest retail outlet store is. The one I use specifically has a sign that says open to the public.
If you have a restaurant you frequent and they order from them, you might ask them if you can have them order it for you and it will be delivered to the restaurant.....

I use to order necks and back to make broths. Sysco was always much cheaper than local butchers. If you have a few large dogs or thinking of starting a Co-op this would be the place.
