OK guys, new puppy arrived today. First class delivery by breeder. Any suggestions for the new pup, especially from you guys attending the seminar. The little guy has already made himself at home, loves the ball and tug of war. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well...not much going on in this thread.. I'm up early today for some stupid reason so..imprint the puppy with the bitework, rag on a string and so on, get him pulling and tugging like you are doing, build that prey drive. House training as usual, crate training, sits, downs, wearing a leash, walking on lead, barking, and most of all lots of FUN! That will keep you buisy for several months.
If I could start over again with my pup the only thing diffrnet I would do is I would start the focus work much sooner with the ball on the string, and swimming.

I just got Bite Traing for Puppies from Leerburg, I think it's critical to get it. I'd get several tapes, maybe more. The 8 week to 8 month period also. I think at the age your dealing with it's going to be awhile. From the videos I've learn to be patient, don't rush anything. That's all I could say if I had to.
A couple of months ago I e-mailed Ed the same basic question...I wanted to know what video he recommended getting for my schutzhund prospect puppy. I already own the 8 weeks to 8 months (very good, by the way), and Ed recommended getting the "Training DRIVE - FOCUS and GRIP with Bernard Flinks"
I just ordered it a couple of days ago, so should be getting it any time, but am sure that this will help in raising my pup to the best of my abilities to bring out the best of hers. If Ed recommends that tape, then even having not seen it yet, I would have to recommend that to you too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
