Steve;
With fear reactions, it depends on the age of the dog,(could be going thru a stage, in which you need to ignore the behavior)and
how much the other drives that the dog possesses play into the tempermanent. That's a finasse thing, that I feel much better viewing. The handler themselves can cause issues also. That is why I asked Carol for a lot of specifics. This I feel is best solved on a case by case basis. I sure like to try without corrections first in the teaching phase. I also like a ignore command, very useful, but again taught with alternate focus, meaning focus on me, food or a toy, or movement!
So I could have the ignore command as a que to come and do something else instead of just stop what you are doing. That would help me keep up his drive instead of stopping something and then going back into drive. Right??
I think that you be a great way to handle it. You could also use a new command like "Crash" to mean come and interact with me!!!!!!! Would be fun to see people's reaction to that one, lololol.
Carol;
I have been waiting to here about your progress. I am very happy for you and little Ember!!!!!! Way to go!!!!! I am very proud of you. I know it's hard to take it slow, but your success
shows your are doing just that!!! Congrats!!!!
