Hi everyone. I got my malinois puppy June 30th. Oh man he's awesome. I have pictures of him on my rat website Mystic Mountain Rattery if you'd like to see him. When you get to the site click "Dogs" and he's the only one there....he's the only dog I have right now.
I also got the book "Schutzhund: Theory and Training Methods" by Susan Barwig and Stewart Hilliard. I got it for $10.84 on EBay (go me). I'm on chapter two at "Getting The Best Puppy Prospect"
I'm a little concerned about a few points in this section. My pup was 13 weeks old when I got him. The remaining pups (including him) weren't socialized to outside people but were kept outside in the dog run. He also didn't get individual attention. He does have prey drive...I play with him with the ball on a string...however when he catches or goes for the ball he grabs the string and not the ball. He does seem a little submissive but is VERY active. I'm considering making a trip to Denver next month (the soonest I can go) to visit with the Front Range Hundersport club. Should I see if someone can help me evaluate him?
