Hello all-
This is my first post, although I've been lurking among the forums for some time. I have a 13 week-old male GSD that we've been having issues housebreaking, and we are at our wit's end. We have followed all of the protocol recommended- he eats his meals in the crate, is only allowed water at specific intervals with nothing after 6pm, is on a leash while outside, the crate is only big enough for him to turn around and lie down, etc. He is taken out at regular intervals during the day, and is taken out at night at midnight, 3am, and 7am.
The problem is, he has been peeing in his crate. He only seems to do this between 3am and 7am, and we have tried everything to fix the problem. Any suggestions? I know he's still young, but cleaning him and the crate every day is starting to get old.
Hi Connie-
Thanks for the input. I tried your suggestion for last night, getting up at 4am and 6:45am, and it worked! So, my belief right now is that he is peeing slightly before 7am, and shortening the gap between the two was beneficial...thanks for the help!
I have a problem with my 4 month old puppy peeing in the crate during the day when I am at work. I only leave him for no moe than 2 hours but he still does it and the worst part is he just sits in his own pee no problem.
