We are lucky to have some people on this forum that are skilled in taking dog training videos and photos ( Norman and Charlie Synder leap to mind with their quality work, and Ed & Cindy, naturally ), which is a lot harder to do than it looks.
So my question for you camera skilled folks is, how do ya'll set up for the shooting of vidoes and photos? Do ya'll use tripods? How many people are needed to run the shot? Etc, etc.....
While I am no expert, I have video taped my dogs several times. I like to use a tripod and have a friend track the action with the camera and zoom in and out when necessary. Make sure the area you will be taping is well lit and open. If you are shooting indoors with tungsten light or a white background, be sure to do a white balance before shooting. I have a digital video camera that uses the Mini DV tapes which I think right now gives you the best quality.
I do many training videos at work as well (safety, quality, health, etc.) As far as editing, I use Ulead or Pinnacle at work. You can edit out bad parts, add music, graphics, other videos and so on.
