Hi everyone, this is my first time on the forum and I have a question that I hope someone may be able to answer. I have a five month old GSD. I have one issue that I'm unsure how to address: she barks whenever we encounter other dogs (at the park, if they come to our fence, at the trainer's, etc). It is quite frustrating because I can't break her focus from this behavior. I have not used a prong collar up to this point because it has not been necessary in the training. The barking isn't an agressive barking but more of a excited "I think I might like to play but I'm not sure about you" bark. Does that make sense? I do not allow her to interact with other dogs other than my pack at home (to protect her from getting bit by a strange dog so she is unsure how to interact with strange dogs). My trainer says not to over correct her as she will grow out of it but I'm not comfortable with that advice. I have liked his training except for this particular issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
