I have a 6 month old yellow lab pup, a 2 year old Great Dane, and a 3 year old black lab. They are all well behaved and solid in obedience. The issue is that when I have them all together with me after having been gone to work for the day they get real excited and run around and play with each other. The yellow lab chases and bites the Dane incessently as though she is trying t calm him down. In general she is very calm with excellent nerves, and does not like when other dogs are nervous. When another dog gets nervous she bites them and barks and she may chase them also. Now, these bites are not viscious, she just seems to be trying to calm the other dog.
I'm not sure if this is aggression, a pack structure issue, not a problem at all, or what. I have begun to use the "leave it" command when Avis (the little one) when she does this. Any thoughts?
It's playing , excited that your back ...etc.. I would let one in at a time instead of all of them together. That way they won't also fight each other for your attention. Then as you go through each one they can all be inside with you without getting loaded off each other.
