Did not find any previous discussion when I searched the site. I am guessing, and only guessing, the handler was trying to choke the dog off the reward by what I have read. Not that I necessary agree with the method, but will be interested in seeing if this brings about a drastic change in the unit.
That is unbelievable...What was this officer attempting to train??? I see that the North Carolina Highway Patrol suspended their program based on (As I understand it) the testimony of their other handlers who said this was an accepted training method...I think it was more a loss of temper.
I am very perplexed about the testimony of the other handlers. It makes me wonder who is in charge of this program and who is training them if they feel this was acceptable.Im sure there are some very good PSD trainers in the State of North Carolina...
