Jorge, Honest Kitchen is a dehydrated raw product, and would be as close as you can get to feeding a raw diet (without feeding raw).
I feed EVO to my dog, alternated w/ raw, and I am very happy with it. I had accidently purchased the Small-bites, and I would think the size of the kibble would be perfect for a JRT.
I like that it is grain free; I had been feeding Canidae and seeing some skin and coat problems with my dog. They went away immediately when I switched to EVO.

Just wanted to add, I don't know if the high protein content (42%) in EVO would be a problem for a 5 month old pup. Innova does make a grain-free puppy formula that has 26% protein...
it is my understanding that it's not the protein in EVO that keeps it from being recommended for pups under 6 months, it's the high calcium percentage.
i am weaning my pups onto a RAW diet while they're young, and will introduce EVO red meat as a back up once they're over the 6 month mark.
EVO is a good food, but quite expensive - IMO.

oh ok - thanks. i've fed that puppy food before, and was quite pleased with it - as i've been with all the innova products that i've used over the years....
