I'm not sure how tired it is O.K. for her to get on walks.
Right now after a walk she has her mouth open with her tongue just out of her mouth. Its not dangling as far as she can get it like she is super tired.
She is panting more than she would be if she were just sitting out in the warm sun, but not like she has ran a marathon.
At the end of the walk her body language is still very "foward" if that makes any sense. Her head is up, she is still holding her tail, and she is not lagging behind. She is right there beside me.
This all sounds good to me. I still trust some people's opinion more than mine, though.
BTW, this is better than she was. When we first found out about her CHF it was 10 to 20 degrees cooler and the same walking distance could not be completed.
Not as good as she once was, but a definite improvement from her worst so far. Thats all we asked for.

Body language and recovery time would be what I'd go on, having no personal experience with CHF. Tongue length, while it sounds funny, always tells me just how worn out my dog is. When it looks more like a man's tie, than a tongue, he's had enough.
Exercise is important so as long as she's not completely wiped out at the end of a walk...taking an hour to have her breathing return to normal...it sounds like you're doing well.
With the hot, humid summer months coming up you'll have to make adjustments but you're very tuned in to her so it shouldn't be a problem.
She is about like your 2nd and 4th pic in your sig line.
After this morning's walk she was bouncing around waiting for food.
I wasn't sure if she needed to be breathing hard at all. Thought it was O.K., but like I said, I trust complete strangers on an internet forum more than I do myself sometimes.
