holy cow, this is way off topic... Thanks for pointing that out Cindy. I was so engrossed in reading I didn't even notice that.
Even though I am not a fan of this, a perfect example of teaching focus without corrections is clicker training. There is a lot of waiting around until a dog does what you want, then click and treat...
