I've read lots of information about the benefits of a raw diet. However, most of the benefits I have read about are more of the immediate effects, like fewer allergies, less itching, increase in vitality, healthier teeth and coat, etc.
I would like to know about the effects of raw diet on degenerative disease, like arthritis, age related blindness/deafness, tooth loss, cancer, etc. As in, what do dogs fed a raw diet die from, and how does their quality of life differ in their senior years from kibble-fed dogs?
Also, does feeding a raw diet from birth or switching at a later time have any effect on degenerative disease later in life?
If you guys could point me to some links to read up on this sort of topic that would be great. I have read the Pottenger's cats study and am aware that is the only "real scientific research" ever done on raw diet, so even websites that have testimonials or personal stories would be interesting to me.
