I now have a four month old big puppy Baby
My question is I am doing the turn around treat thing with her to quit pulling now she does not pull hard anyway but she does not heel either and being 40 pounds at 4 months she is going to get big. While I have her.
But she is learning not to pull but when I turn around she does not pull but if I go to turn back around to go where I need to she will start pulling again. So I turn around she does not pull but when we turn back around she will pull again.
Am I doing something wrong or will she do this tell she learns.
Another question she is not my dog so they have her on kibble and I can not stray from that of course.
She is eating about 6 cups of kibble a day is that normal they have her on nutro max adult formulia.
I am adding a little raw to her lunch but I cant go raw cause she is not my dog.
I will get a picture of her up in her intro but she stands about 2 feet tall and a very slinder build the bag say she should be eating 4. I am following owners intructions but i can change how much she eats
I did see that that is why i started doing it.
But my problem is.
She is pulling I turn around she is not pulling But at some put I have to turn back around to go home when i turn back around is when she starts pulling.
So to eplain a little better
We are going north she is pulling we turn south she does not pull and stands beside me we are still walking. But I have to turn back north to go home then she starts pulling when i turn back north. So she is getting the turn thing but she will start pulling as soon as we go back.
Does that make sence if not tell me
If she is eating an adult food then the feeding recommendations are , for an adult dog (or does the bag say differently?). As a puppy she will naturally need considerably more than an adult. Those feeding guidelines are really nothing more than very general guidelines; so as long as she looks good to you, there is no reason to change anything.

I don't see the handler in the video turning around at all. She is only bending down and waiting for the puppies attention to return to her.
Whether you are headed north or south the procedure of bending down and waiting would be the same.
In this video, the moment the dog starts moving away from the handler, the handler sits down and hands over a treat to the puppy.
This simply teaches the puppy - "If I go away from my handler, I'll get a treat".
Infact, it is teaching the puppy to move away from the handler. You can see in the video, how the puppy moves away from the handler and looks back to see if the treat is ready for him or not!

My take on the video is that the dog is rewarded for focusing on the handler. The handler does not appear to coax the dog with words or treats to get the pups attention, but does reward the pup when focus is returned. The handler does not just "hand over a treat" the pup must return it's attention and is rewarded for that.
Thank yall sorry I did not watch the video I sall a earlier thread where they where doing the turn around I think
I will try that with her. Kneel and wait she is 4 months old already will this still work ok.
At 4 months old she is still very much a puppy, with very little attention span, so I think the method is very appropriate for her.

Edited to add:I would be working in a low distraction environment to begin with. If you notice in the video there are no other dogs around, no people, no traffic..... This is definitely a method that takes patience. Good luck.
Thank you it is working better for her she is very smart.
she stays by me already looking for that treat.
She has a wonderful food drive foos is the way to her heart LOL.
She is wonderful and once again thanks for the help
