Hi everyone! I have taught BIndi wait, in which I say wait, and hold out my arm with my hand flat, palm pointed at her.( she has known this for at least two months or so now) Now, I am going to teach her the stay command. What hand signal would I use for the stay command? Is there anything I should know about transitioning from the wait command, to the stay. How can I help her to understand the difference between the two commands or do I just drop the wait command? I am presently using the wait command to ask her to do something, be in a down position, or sit patiently by the door, etc. for a while.
ANy help is appreciated.

Sharon, the way I am reading this you have already taught her stay. You just used wait. How about just sit or down means stay without a second command? She sits until you release her to move.
Ok, that is what I was wondering. I thought wait was like stay, but I had never taught my dogs to wait before, just stay.
