Matt Wyrick Webboard User Reg: 04-29-2008 Posts: 207 Loc: Offline	Here's something I did with Molly when she had an accident in the house (I know my bad but puppies aren't perfect and ditto for people too). I cleaned up the mess with a paper towel and took the towel and Molly outside and put the towel in the potty yard/area. Often a dog will do one and not long after do the other so if she peed in the house and I took her and the pee soaked paper towel out and she pooped I made a big show of it. Later back inside clean up the soiled spot with a good cleaner made for pet odors to eliminate all smell. Whenever you take the puppy out to go potty, make sure you go to the place you put the paper towels. This eventually becomes the established potty spot. Molly started asking to go out in about four days although she was much older than your dog when we started this.

The smell and the memory are both prompts. It won't be long before you can take the dog out and say your potty word and have to dog do it.
