I have a boarding kennel with exercise yard - all dogs go out 3X/day and of course pee/poop in the yard many many times - males and females, big and small - many times. I expected when making the yard that I'd lose the grass pretty quickly. Nope. The grass is the best anywhere - it grows very quickly and when mowed looks like a manicured lawn. I have to mow it often as it grows very quickly and is very thick/healthy grass. The only bald spots are where the dogs run the fenceline. No urine spots, and I don't hose or water it either (except whenever it rains, gets dewey/wet at night). I don't know why. Of course since it's a boarding kennel, the dogs are fed many different kinds of diets - I'd say the only diet that is NOT common is raw. ??? no urine spots on my lawn either which is where my own dogs pee.

If you can get past the brown spots dog pee is a great fertilizer. The brown spots are actually burn spots just the same as putting too much fertilizer in one location.
