I debated long and hard about buying an E-collar right out of PDT school. I did buy one, and I try and make good use of it. I prob use it too often actually, but this is a perfect excuse to go buy a toy from Ed. I can say that I have had over 40 dogs here as fosters and rehabs and sure some come with the idea that a scratch at the door will get them back in faster then the others who are patiently waiting. In summer, the cost of this is always a screen. But before I replace the screen, I Simply sit there continually correcting with the stem collar and this CURES this pronto. The faster your reflexes are, the faster they get the message. I have never had a dog which needed a third day of this correction. day two confirms that Paw on door= displeasure
