Even though I am currently dogless I still spread the word about the diet. My coworker has now been to a holistic vet and is starting the raw diet with her 2-year-old mini poodle! (a foster stud dog from my old breeder)
I am so proud of her! Max (my standard poodle) was PTS before she got this dog at 1 1/2 years-old, but she used to think I was nuts for feeding raw. After a slight vaccine reaction she booked a new vet and has borrowed all of my books on natural health care and diet.
Speedy (aptly named!) had his first raw taste last night!
Me too, I am a newbie to this raw food, but starting with Nature's Variety raw patties until I can read the raw feeding books and understand exactly how to do it. My Kaia(GSD, 7 months old) has converted so well, so negative side effects.
I am so excited to learn all I can. I just want to do the best thing for her, and she loves it! Also giving her recreational raw bones for her to satisfy her need to chew.
This website is so great!

will give you two complete weeks' worth of daily meals, another one just for puppies, a whole page of excellent books to order, Cindy's Q&A, and the whole raw how-to.
I'm a big read-first person, so I totally get that, but if you ever decide to jump in, and the book hasn't come yet, you cannot do better than duplicating the Leerburg sample menus. The fish oil and E are listed right there with the food, and there are even photos.
I read everything there is on canine nutrition, but there is still no sample menu I ever steer people towards other than the LB two. They use easy poultry RMBs and they include variety in the form of the added meats (and fish).
Thank you so much Connie! I so appreciate your advice. This is the best website ever for all kinds of info. I will read the sample menus. I have been reading Cindy's Q&A which helps quell the slight fears I have. I know it is silly but someone likened it to jumping off a bridge. I am still standing on the bridge, and when I get the courage to jump for real, I will for sure follow with the LB two.
