I'm in a similar position as you, with a 12 week old Belgian Sheepdog puppy that I'm just getting started in Mondio (my first foray into a protection sport), so I've read these posts with interest. One other thing to remember with a young puppy - don't do much tugging with him when he's teething. That can be a disaster, for obvious reasons. I can't remember when their adult teeth are all in and they're done with the teething, but I think it's still awhile. A couple weeks ago my Koby's ears started flopping just a bit (a sign of teething in our breed) and he became more mouthy and chewy on things at home, so I'm sure he was teething. So I haven't done a lot of tugging lately. I think he may be through that stage for now, so I'm starting up a little more with the playful tugging. But it sounds like you're on the right track and are doing sort of what I'm doing - keeping the sessions short and fun.
