Is there a legal form or can we just write out our own paper and have it with our other legal papers. We are trying to secure the future of our dogs in case something would happen to Jerry and I. It is an unthinkable thing, but also very necessary. I just recently had a situation where someone I knew had her mothers' dogs (3 goldens) put to sleep because she was unable to tolerate her mothers dogs being alive when she wasn't anymore. Needless to say, it infuriated me, but it was after the fact. It's unfortunate, but we sometimes have to even protect our dogs from relatives as well. When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
