i to am going to a pinch or prong collar also as every other method to train a 4 month old shepherd has failed as far as walking on a leash and pulling. I have tried many methods suggested but he still pulls and attempts to go after other dogs.
Peter,
This thread is about a pinch collar for an almost 2 year old dog.
IMO, a pinch or corrections of any sort for a 16 week old pup is inappropriate. There are many threads discussing this issue already on the site (try the seach function) as well as the free books on puppy rising and behavior shaping provided by our host Ed Frawley (check out the e-books). If you feel a need to have a more one on one, you should start another thread all together, (this is hi-jacking a thread). Start at the general forum and check the new topic button.
Don't take that the wrong way Peter....Welcome to the forum, it's one the best, most informative and friendliest you'll find. Hang about, check around the site. And give your pup a break, he doesn't need a prong/pinch yet.
