I have a four year old male humanimal.
He's semi-trained, and mostly housebroken.
funny...so do I !! but mine's 36...and although he is housebroken, his training has gone way way downhill
I currently do only have one dog, but once we get our own place and aren't renting that will change.
When I was younger I worked in petstores part-time. My parents would never let me get a dog or cat so I was constantly bringing home small animals to nurse back to health. The hamster that got into a nasty fight when a customer thought it would be funny to grab one from another cage and throw it in with a different one. He was brought home and nursed back to health. He was then our "show" hamster we used when a customer wanted to know if Hamster's were friendly. It's funny how many people have the opinion that all small animals bite.
Then bunny that got a severe eye infection when a customer decided to not keep an eye on her kids and they stuck her in the eye with a piece of hay that we used to line her cage. I kept her (despite my parents warnings that I had to get rid of her)
And I agree with Jennifer, they make awesome pets if brought up right. She was litter trained and could do a few tricks. But she sadly died at about 6 years of age....her name was Freeway.
Chester was a kitten that was dropped off outside the pet store. Cute little long haired calico that I decided to bring home because the pet store I worked at didn't want to bring a kitten in that hadn't been vet checked yet. But they paid for the visit and let me keep him. He did tricks too, but one night he got out of the house and decided to follow me and Taz (my previous dog) on our walk. I had no idea he was behind us when we crossed the street. And you can guess what happened.
He was a great little cat....smart too.
After Chester there was Zeke...a little tabby cat. I got him from an ad in the paper. He was the last one left and when I went to see him the lady asked her kid to get the kitten, when i saw him hauling this little thing out from under the couch by his back legs I told her I would take him, even before I saw what he looked like. All i saw was his hind end and heard him yowling as the kid tried to pull him out. Some people's kids I tell ya.
But Zeke somehow develoved a fetish for elastic bands/or ponytail scrunchies & ribbon for some reason. And as hard as I tried to make sure all such items were out of his reach when I wasn't around, I was living with a room-mate who mistakingly left a bag with hair elastics in it on her bed. Zeke ate almost all of them and by the time we got him to the vets it was too late to do anything without surgergy. I was a college student at the time and as much as it killed me, i didn't have the money then to put towards the surgery, so i had to opt to put him down (please don't anyone get on their high horse with me about doing that...Im hard enough on myself about it)
although these aren't pets i have now, they did play a big part of my life when i was younger.
Don't complain....TRAIN!!! |

We have the 4 Muttlings: Shyner -- a rescued LabX, Toni -- Malinois #1, Caterina -- Toni's sister, and Drift the GSD pup-kin.
Also sharing our space is 3 horses: Breeze my 23 yr old Arab mare, Winchester my 4 yr old rescued Belgian Draft, and Bullet our "stray" Arab (He kept showing up at our hay bale and finally Paul just left him in the pasture. The next day we had a note on the door that said "looks like you have a new horse, if you want him, keep him" and signed by the owner. Needless to say, Paul couldn't let him go )
We too have a cat. Paul named him Boss Cat and he rules the roost
That is it for now.....

We have only the two dogs now. Over the years, however, I've had just about every king of critter imaginable as a pet. My kids have brought home everything from an albino ringneck dove to a nest of baby ribbon snakes. We've had domestic and wild bunnies, chickens, cats, hamsters, fish, tadpoles, frogs, turtles, parakeets and on and on. I like a houseful of critters, but don't have time for them right now. Hubby is retired, so he'd be the primary care-taker and he does not like a houseful of critters. So there you go. The kids are all grown and raising their own kids now, so we don't have any of the "can we keep him?" surprises anymore.

I would have edited my post, but my editing time had expired, so i just wanted to add that, like Randy, we have the deer, bunnies, squirrels, groundhogs, red and grey foxes, weasels, lizards, birds, beavers (in the creek next to our property), turkeys, red-tailed hawks, prairie falcons, harrier hawks, barred, screech, barn, and horned owls, turkey vultures, bobcats, coyotes, and otters, turtles and so forth living on or near our land.

Oh, let's see... besides one lab and one APBT...
4 cats:
Tika: 14 year old rescued blue and cream torti. She is the queen bitch and the only cat to put the PB in his place. Her favorite thing to do is to lay on whatever you're reading. She also enjoys sneaking outside and killing bunnies larger than she is (and she's declawed!)
Radar: I think he's 8? Rescued brown and white tabby. He's a fat kitty who spends most of his time laying around. Very vocal.
Honeydew: 6 year old black and white longhair. One of those free farm kitties! She has a problem with her liver; she doesn't metabolize fat correctly or something. My parents had to pay big bucks to basically have her get liposuctioned when she was younger. She is the sweetest cat ever, really loves to sit on your lap. She's also very sensitive to emotions and if you're crying or yelling she'll jump on you and lick your face to calm you down.
Honeybee: 5 year old half-sister of Honeydew, brown tabby longhair. She is a "typical" cat, very aloof and shy.
There's also the two guinea pigs, Marco and Emppu. Marco is a very large black and white Abyssian and the boss of the cage. Emppu is a cream and white long-haired pig and is very quiet and affectionate.
And I have a hairless rat named Valentino. He's a complete darling. I plan on getting him a buddy soon.
Oh yeah, and then there's the fish.
Two 7 year-old goldfish named Fatboy and Junior. They've maxed out at about 6 inches each.
Two pink painted tetras that don't have names. I'm not a big fan of dyed fish, but some guy brought them into work because he couldn't keep them and so I decided to take them myself.
I also have a 20 gallon that I'm in the process of cycling right now. I plan to have some cory catfish, maybe some tetras, and one of the nicer kinds of gourami.

I have one dog, but its my parents'dog. We have two guest dogs who come over once in a while. They both belong to my younger sister so they have lived with us for three to four years before my sister moved out and married to her husband.

I have gouldian finches, a canary I rescued, and a few aquariums which I adore.
The finches are by far my favorite non dog animal and the aquariums are my fun project besides my garden.

2 cats, 4 dogs, 60 or so pigeons, fish, mouse, local snakes and wild squirrels that use us as perches to eat peanuts off of. Had ferrets, guinea pigs and a couple of chinchillas. Enough already!

I currently have 4 dogs, the two RR's Leonidas and Meile and 2 Chi's, Buffy & Willow.
We have two cats, one from the humane society named Pixie, one a "free" kitten that my husband suprised me by bringing it home named Sterling.
Two turtles, a red eared slider Frank and a yellow bellied slider Frodo.
A placostomas and the turtle Frodo's pet goldfish. We once bought him 10 feeder fish just to see if he liked them. They were about 1 inch or less in length. He ate all but this one. It has been with him for about 2 years or so and is now approx. 7 inches long.
In the past I have had a Ferret, snakes, lizards, tarantula, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs (I bottle raised 4 who's mom died at 3days old) and chickens.
