The above is a BIG hit at my house. 3 Mals, 1 Dutchie, 1 Lab...all toy crazy and one Bloodhound that just likes to chew on things.
ALL have a large fire plug that is with them ALL the time (in crates and kennels, not during training). Sometimes I put treats in them, sometimes I shove treats in the center and sometimes they are empty. Never had one destroyed and they carry them around and will lay there and just keep squishing them.
I do not think any toy is 100% indestructible, but the shape of it and the material these are made of is great and the dogs seem to like just holding and squishing them as opposed to trying to destroy it.
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
be careful with the cone shaped kongs. i had a 2 year old f GSD 70# who was given an XL kong. she got it caught, with her lower jaw buried inside the kong and the upper jaw outside. i had to gently work her teeth out of the kong and she was scared and in some pain. needless to say we gave the XL to a more approrpiate XL dog, her brother 110# and downsized her to the large size kong...
Funny you mentioned this. My dog loves to bite, however, I wanted to give him something to chew (as he is still a puppy) and thought this would occupy his mind when lying around the house. So I went to PetSmart and spent $20 bucks on a Nylabone (XL rubber bone - tear resistant) for him to chew on, 15 minutes after I got home, it was completely destroyed - large chunks ripped into it. Needless to say I am returning it ASAP.
Good advice.
The worst part about Nylabones?
They DO NOT show up on X-rays, due to their opaque, rubber nature.
The dog can have a nylabone obstruction, and the vet will never see it unless he does exploratory surgery.

Exploratory surgery is $600-1000 at my vet. My dog won't even look at a nylabone anyway.
