We purchased the Dogtra 280NCP and the remote training video for our 6 mo old GSD. Because Ed raved about the clickit collar, we got that too. Unfortunately we can't fit the Dogtra unit onto the clickit. We tried using some spray lubricant and all our might, but it didn't fit. Anyone have an easy solution (I know I can return the collar, but would love to see it work since the Dogtra collar isn't very easy to put on the dog). Thanks.
I fit that Dogtra unit to the clickit collar, but it took a lot of pulling to do so ( and you'll need a lot of grip strength to make it happen ).
Wish I could offer a better tip than "have strong hands and don't give up"
My strong husband was able to yank it through. Maybe Testosterone was the trick. Yipee. If anyone else has a trick, let's hear it. Otherwise, Kudos to Josh (my husband) and Will for superior representation of their sex (breed?).
We're wondering if it's just the large clickit that's the problem. Of course, the dog is 68 pounds at 5 1/2 months, so a smaller collar won't work much longer. We can pull the Dogtra unit onto the collar but it doesn't move on the teeth.
All I can say is it is just a tight fit, but once on it stays. I've put a couple of the receivers on the cinch-it's, and every one has been a fight. Some people recommended pliers and grease,
I used my hands and just worked it through without. (grease would have made it harder for me to hold)
I'm sure pliers could have made it easier, but I didn't have any at the time.
Only comforting though is that it won't slip off accidentally in the training field
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

I watched Cameron do battle with a clickit and the larger Dogtra unit, so a strong woman *can* do it.
Way to go, muscles!!
