Hello,
I thought I would toss this out to anyone for some input. Just took my dog to vet to get her ears checked. They were fine, and they did perform a physical exam.
My concern was her change in behavior at the vet. I've had her for 1yr. She was adopted from local shelter last labor day, estimated to be about 1 year at that time. She was a stray when she was picked up.
Prior visits to vet she was fine. This time once she saw the staff, she started to growl. She did attempt to bite the tech when she attempted a rectal temp.
She required a muzzle and some gentle restraint.
She seemed very nervous this time around.
Is she just older and wiser to what happens there?? Otherwise, her behavior is unchanged. She is protective of the yard and house. Is fine with visitors, but I do need to be present for approriate introductions. Generally I ask visitors to ignore her and I make her wait by her crate till she is calm. She does the typical barking initially.
Then she is fine......
Just curious. Was she just more of an oblivious puppy before??
Was I making it worse, since she is more attached to me now??
