I am about to pick up my new puppy in about 3 weeks. He will be 7 weeks old. This is my first working dog puppy. With other dogs I have gotten kongs for them to chew on while I was away at work. I have heard others talk about not getting toys for working puppies to increase drive when training. I am looking for suggestions from the experienced. Thanks.
Hi Kim,
Congrats on the new pup! My pup has a kong in his crate all the time, hasn't decreased any drive at all, lol. I think some of the dogs that people are blaming decreased drive on the toy, the toy is not the problem, the dog just has low or medium drives. Hopefully you get a puppy that has the right amount of drive for you. Drive is just in the dog, can't fake it,
