I saw where some of you all had experience in taking the CLEP and Dantes tests. I'm getting ready to start taking a BUNCH of them, probably at least a whole semesters worth by the time I get done.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good study resources for them?
My school gave me the standard handout that isn't worth a crap, and I've been weeding through the internet trying to find some good ones.
instacert.com is a great resource if you already have a general knowledge of the subject and just need to brush up on it a bit. It costs about $20/month and I think you try it out 1 month for free.
You can also get basic CLEP study book by Princeton Review (I think they cover the 5 most popular subjects). I always get that sort of book from amazon or half.com - you can save at least 1/3of the cover price.
Thanks for the tip! I think I'm going to try out the Princeton Review books firsts. They don't have it for all the different tests, but theres a couple I think that will be pretty useful.
I just took 4 CLEP tests in the last month, and I used the CLEP Official Study Guide. They sell the study guides on the CLEP website, but I got the whole set in one book quite a bit cheaper at Amazon:
Honestly, if you want to buy mine, I could send it to you cheap. You can PM me if you want. I don't think I'll be needing it anymore. The study guide gives tips on how to study, and explains the test formats, etc. Then it had practice tests in it. Basically I took the practice tests for each exam, then checked my answers and went back over the questions I missed. It must have worked, b/c I passed all of the ones I took and tested out of 5 mos of classes. Woot-woot!
Good luck! Like I said, PM me if you want to buy my guide. It's just sitting around collecting dust...
