I got my new pup yesterday...she's wonderful! I finally decided to name her Djenga. Nine weeks old and a sweetie. The breeder was the nicest man, he didn't really speak any english but we managed to communicate fairly well. He gave us a huge (about 50 pound) bag of dog food and plenty of paper towels for the ride...poor lil Djenga got sick a lot. We got her home and she got to meet our dogs. She wasn't too sure of Annabel, our newfoundland, at first but she loved Cassie, our shepherd.
She made it through the night without an accident. Today she perked up a lot (she was pretty sad yesterday) and was playing with the ball on a string, she's feisty! Pulling as hard as she could, trying to growl and puppy bark at it. She met the cat, too, and wasn't too sure at first but now she's chasing it around like a pro. The cat thinks it's great fun, too, and runs all over, climbing all over the furniture and then coming back for more.
I can tell housetraining her is going to be easy, she already whines and cries when she needs to go. I took a bunch of pics if anyone wants to see, they're here. She's a lil social butterfly and insists on going over to see anybody that's within range. I just have a question on other dogs...now, I am not going to let her go over to see any strange dogs, ever, but if she sees another dog she almost acts scared of it. She'll stand there and stare at it for a minute and then trots away in the other direction. Is this normal for a pup of her age? It's been forever since I had one so young.
Wish us luck...I am really happy with her already, I have a feeling I got a really good one!
AWWWWWHHHHHH,
What a little cutie, I love the name, I think I'll steal it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> . To anserw your question yes it is very normal for a puppy to be have like that. Good luck with her, and enjoy the puppy days while they last. It looks like you have a great genetically sound pup, I think she'll live up to her pedigree. If you don't mind me asking who's the breeder, I'm looking for a girl myself. Well best of luck with her.
You have beautiful pup. Enjoy her puppy days as they past faster then you can imagine.

Thanks everyone, she definately is the cutest thing on 4 legs right now! lol especially when she is running around chasing her ball, growling and barking at it and chasing the other dogs. her personality is really starting to come out now, she's a lil monster! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Her breeder is located in Germany. His website is http://www.castra-regina.com/index1.html . I would reccommend him to anyone looking for a pup...I don't know if he would ship pups to the states but i know a couple of his dogs are working police dogs in the US. anyway, i'm sure i'll have some questions as she grows, and i'll be putting more pics on her site as she grows so keep checkin back!
