Sarah, this is an interesting website. It describes what this owner accomplished w/out surgery. There are pages regarding diagnosis and treatment, etc.; very informative, and the author brings up some worthy points to consider regarding surgery. PS this dog had 2 rear ccl ruptures...
I did not read through the entire site, but it also had meniscus info...
Ok, one more thing...the author mentions that many people have commented that after their dog was examined (manipulation of joint) by the vet, their dogs' lameness was much worse than prior to the vet visit. Apparently forceful manipulation can aggravate a ccl injury... (in case you are planning on having True exmanined by another vet)
I've been quite extensively through that site, Lynne, myself. It is very interesting and gives you a lot to think about.
That yahoo group is maddening to me! I can't seem to get the grasp of reading the posts, how to get to the first one, etc. I've just got no patience for computer crap! It seems like a great place with lots of info, though, so I'll keep working at it.

Thanks, Lynne. Got it bookmarked.
Yes, I did see that comment about manipulation and it makes me cringe. As much as I dislike using a sedative, at least if True is relaxed the doc won't have to struggle with him and hurt it further. You'd think with all the medical advances, someone could come up with a test that doesn't cost the earth ($5,000 MRI)or further injure the knee (manipulation)to diagnose these things.
Stephanie: The Yahoo format DOES suck, doesn't it? I'm so used to user-friendly LB that I don't have any patience for it either.
