I would like to start training my pup to bark when he finds his victim. What is the best step by step way to do this? I heard this is great because it curtails barking at other times. Thanks for any help you can give.

I put a bark command on my dog first, when that was solid transfered it to barking for others on command. Then moved on to short runaways where my dog barked at the victim for him reward.
I'm not sure what you mean about curtails barking at other times - are you talking about on a search, or in everyday life at home? In everyday life at home I don't think it makes a difference. In fact if anything, my dog is a more persistant barker in some situations because of it. It's like he's thikin' hey, it works on a search so why not try it here as well.
