I bought one of those "edible" nylabones this weekend. It looked relatively tough even though it was edible, and I thought he'd at least get a week out of it.
No such luck. I tossed it to him and came back 30 minutes later and it was gone. What a waste of $5.50.
No more nylabones for my dogs. In my opinion they are dangerous. If she did not throw it up it could have blocked something internally.
Ditto!! I had this happen years ago....had about a 2 inch chunk stuck in his small intestine which could not be seen in xrays.
My boy had dehydrated and lost about 30 pounds....
After spending a week at the vets and lots of $$, he got to come home when he started holding down water & some food...don't you know when he got home he was so excited he passed (which I had to help him in doing so) the nylabone and along with some twigs, all which were tangled up with some thread...I remember him looking so relieved in getting that out.
Never had another nylabone after that...the dogs now seem to like chewing on the wife's stuff...socks, shoes, bras, etc...
and of course you dont know they did it until she goes to put them on...
