I was thinking of using some weight in Kodee's backpack, to help him work off some energy. We go for long walks (sometimes up to 5 miles) regularly, and he plays frisbee and catch in the back yard to get some running in. We also play tug almost every evening in the living room to tire him out a little before bed. This dog has endless energy, although he is very well-behaved in the house (not destructive at all), so I'm sure he's getting "enough".
I just thought it might be nice to tire him out a little more before we work on desensitization (see my other big-huge-long thread earlier today for info on that). Is a weighted vest, or weight in his backpack ok at this age (15 mos?) If so, how much and for how long each walk?
When I suggested the weight in the other thread, I had forgotten how young Kodee is. I think the recommendation on the vest is two years old or over, which is probably a pretty good guideline to follow. I would hold off on the weight until he is older, especially since it sounds like you're very good at making sure he gets plenty of exercise.
