Is the Dogtra "patented non-stimulating pager mode" vibratng? a tone?
The 3500NCP model specifically says "non-stimulation vibration features", but the lower end model does not specify the type of page.
Some of the models on Leerburg are not on the Dogtra site? The Dogtra site seems out of date. I saw a note about some new product coming out in 2006.
The Tri-Tronics Sport Basic G3 has a "buzz" feature, but even looking at the manual online, I couldn't figure out what exactly it was. Is this vibrating? Low level stim?
There's a whole line of vibrating collars at Leerburg, but I don't see the brand "Unleashed" listed in any of Ed's articles, so I don't know if it's any good.
I'm shopping around for a collar with both vibrating pager and stim options.
If not that one then one that has the same remote and it has the pager option. The button in the middle of the remote rather than on the side is the vibrate one. We're very happy with the one we got, haven't had any issues with it at all.
Just a word of caution though for using the pager option, our dog absolutely hates it and would consider it more of a correction than the stim. We don't really use that option unless absolutely desparate - like when the battery is running out and the pager uses less battery I guess.
The dog I'm thinking of using it with is a very hard dog, I find it unlikely she will have a strong reaction to the vibration.
I did talk with someone that used a low-level stim in place of vibration, but for my own psycology, I think I'd only do that as a last resort for a dog who is actually deaf and hated the vibration setting.
I just like having it be an option. I don't want to spend a few hundred on a remote collar and then discover later I wanted a different one.
On the Dogtra collars, I must be blind, all the P models have the vibration option listed in the description. Still not sure about the Tri-Tronics "Buzz".
