Thanks Heidi! I may be a bit guilty on the frequency of his walks and as I read through Ed's website I'm learning, to my dismay, that I may be a part of the old style yank and crank crowd of trainers. But I was taught that method by an obedience trainer 13 years ago when I trained my last shepherd to be my companion dog. I just recently purchased Ed's Training Dogs with Markers and I'm having a bit of an elightenment.
I fear that I have "goofed up" my puppy from reaching his full potential in Schutzhund, even though he seems to do well with striking and hanging on the tug. I have only recently started teaching the 'out' command.
Can any of you suggest the videos I need the most right now with my dog 'Zeek' just turning 8 months. I'm getting limited help from a friend that is a Police K9 handler when his schedule allows and I've only recently discovered a Schutzhund club here in St. Louis that's close to my house.
