Today is the day we take time to remember all the brave warriors that defend our freedom, sometimes with their very lives.
Thank you and our prayers are with you.

Yesterday I attended a group fellowship meeting of Veterans suffering from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). All but one was Vietnam era Veterans suffering years latter from flashbacks, bad dreams, broken relationships, guilt, etc., etc. These were people in their 60's.
One Vet was speaking about his war experiences and his lifetime afterwords. He suddenly crumbled into uncontrollable tears. I looked around the room and witnessed over half the participants in the room break down to different extents.
It was one of the most moving, sad things I witnessed in a long time. Watching grown men from all walks of life cry together is tough to see.
Amen! We have been free for so long, we have forgotten the cost of freedom. It sometimes lasts a life time. For our freedom men have had to see unspeakable horrors, and commit acts they never would have done, like having to kill another human being.
It doesn't help that the country is turning more and more away from being patriotic (hope I spelled it correctly) I wish we would have more commercials on TV praising the men and women who fight for our freedom.
But today, we can remind others we come in contact with.
My friends and I will be offering prayers for the troops of today and the past. May God bless them!

This was a VERY good way for me to spend a few early-morning minutes. Thank you for posting it.
It will remind me to take a few more "pittances of time" today to be silent and grateful.
