Yote got a case of kennel cough from the bordatella vaccine he received last weekend. His coughing is mild and he is already much better than he was earlier in the week.
But he is driving me up the proverbial wall, and literally bouncing off the literal ones.
How contagious is he? since it was a mild vaccine transmitted case,
And would you guys say its safe to resume his daily walks without putting other dogs or the local foxes etc at risk??

It's contagious in the way that a cold or pneumonia is contagious for us. It's called "kennel cough" because the dogs who are all in a crowd* breathing each other's air (and nasal/oral secretions) are most susceptible. The dog can still shed organisms for up to 90 days after recovery.
When you say "local dogs," do you mean just passing quickly by them?
Yes I meant just by being out and about for a walk, we generally don't encounter too many other dogs on our walks but we also have a large area fox population that I would hate to put at risk.
I ended up calling the E-vet last night because he NEEDED to go for his walk and they ok'd him to go on walks but not anywhere with lots of dogs running together, which we don't do anyway.
So we only did a mile last night, then again this morning which is less than half of what we normally do, I didn't want to overwork him.
