How unspeakably horrible. I can't believe that there are people defending him in the comments, like what he did is okay just because his life sucks right now.
The really unfortunate part is that the animal control agents did not get the proper search warrants. Instead of waiting the 50-60 minutes to get the warrant, they entered the property and started seizing what dogs remained alive. Animal Control did however have enough time to get the local media out there and hold a press conference.
Quote from article: "City Prosecutor Jay Macejko determined that the High Caliber K-9 property was illegally entered by representatives of Animal Charity, who used bolt cutters to cut a fence. The four counts relate to dogs seen before the fence was breached. The prosecutor said had he been called, he would have obtained a search warrant." End quote
Sounds like some idiots from a rescue were the one's who broke in. Rule #1 in animal rescue if you actually want the people to get charged: DON'T MESS WITH EVIDENCE!
This is the rescue http://animalcharityofohio.org/. They need to get some serious remedial training as far as not interfering with law enforcement. Animal control can get a search warrant very quickly if the situation is bad enough. In this case with dogs in distress and other dogs dead visible without entering the property they would have more than enough to get the warrant. Organizations like Animal Charity really piss me off!
Misdemeanors? How in the heck is starving dogs to death a misdemeanor? If they don't have felony animal abuse or neglect on the books there(some places don't!) they need to pass a few laws fast.

Hopefully the rat bastid will be permanently stricken from UScA, not only as a helper but his membership must be permanently revoked as well. I am afraid he will resurface, with dogs and a kennel somewhere else down the line, after all, he basically got a slap on the wrist.
