I have a weird question, I bring my dog to an unauthorized dog park. One night we were there with two other dogs and their owners, a man and woman bring their pug puppy in. I always distract my dog by telling her to lay and then I throw her ball down field for her to fetch when someone is coming in so she doesn't approach/crowd the entrance. Well after these 2 people came in and started talking to us my gsd and a pit mix started barking at the woman. Both dogs were totally ignoring her husband and their pug. I have never had my dog single out a person like this, neither did the guy who owned the pit mix.
The woman proceeded to remove some clothing because she was wearing all black and it was dark out, but our dogs still did not stop barking at her. We would calm the dogs down but after a while they would go over and bark at her again being cautious around her. Why would 2 dogs single this woman out? Any suggestions?
I have seen a K9 single out a woman at a D.A.R.E. function and FLIP OUT at her. The handler was shocked. I looked at the woman closely and saw she had lesions on her arms and it looked to me like she was wearing a wig. I think she had cancer. Dogs can smell so many physiological things that it's really impossible to tell what could cause this. It doesn't necessarily mean the person is "bad" but it is odd that both of them singled her out.
Have they ever been around guns before?
Danke will damned near knock someone to the ground and try to dig the gun out of their pocket. the smell drives her nuts ("it's sooooo stinky!").
My female is that way never fiqured out why, I have many young males and females come and go in my house, as I have teen boys but have two guys who she didnt like ,different national orgin, but she stopped them at the door, and 1 girl.Im sure it was sent releated but what she sented is anyones guess. All three had to leave as she was so agressive that I was not sure she would not bite if they went closer, and to this date she has never bitten anyone, but ears back and hair up.I just trusted her but didnt indulgue her, after they left I sent her to her stay area, but I did trust her ,as she didnt do that with alot of kids moving in and out with my sons. So my advise would be watch the dogs body lanuage and handle them, just remove if they are aggressive and remove what is the cause.TRUST YOUR DOG,I SLEEP WEII AT NIGHT.
I can't speak for the other dog, but my dog has never been near a gun, still a possibility. I do smoke but gun powder is a lot different than tobacco. I think there may have been something wrong with her physically. My dog knew when I had an infection before I was ever diagnosed with it so it is definitely a possibility.
We questioned this woman, asking her if she was near other animals or at an animal hospital. I even asked her if she was having her period. This was the only time I ever saw this woman at that park. Mainly I go at night when there are less people coming by, but my dog has been around many people during the summer that frequent the park and this never happened. It was just very strange and unlike her, she usually ignores humans and animals when we go there to play fetch.
The other dogs owner said his dog doesn't even bark at his house let alone outside at a person. The dogs completely calmed down once they left.

Mine goes crazy around guns also. I was shooting this weekend and he wanted nothing more than to take that gun out of my hand (he was being held back on leash by someone else though). I left him outside at my parent's farm and couldn't find him, so I fired a gun in the air and he showed up about 30 seconds later out of breath.
If someone comes over that carries, he's all over them sniffing and pawing at the gun.
We had a plumber come a few weeks ago and Loki went completely nuts and acted like he wanted to eat him for a snack, I have never seen anything like it from Loki and honestly it made me it really wary of the guy.
Usually we have to gate him into the hallway because he is too friendly, he loves everyone to pieces and it is obnoxious.
I have no idea what his beef was with this guy but I kept the cell phone in my pocket just in case.
It could have been that the guy smelled like another dog, or something weird from someone else house but it still made me wary.
