In a case of weird behavior like this I think you have to dig deep and I am open to any and all suggestions to explore!
as for her appetite....
she is a pig, she is always hungry and will eat anything offered to her, I honestly can't think of a single food she will refuse, including pickles, salsa and orange peels....all things she has eaten without them actually being offered!!
Anytime she eats she gulps it down like it has been days and If I don't watch her she will try to take the other dogs food as well.
She has also never in her life refused food and she has a stomach of steel.
I do know She isn't actually hungry, she had 2 cups of dry food this morning and will get another cup before bed tonight.
But maybe she thinks she is. There would be a medical explanation for that as well I'm sure, maybe a thyroid or other hormonal issue is at hand.
Here is an odd and possibly totally unrelated update..but one that made me go Hmmm. Especially because she has not done this since monday night.
there was a small earthquake about 100 miles away on monday. probably it was too small and to far away, but the fact that she knows when a storm is coming when its still halfway across the state makes me think maybe she was picking up on some weirdness or rumblings that the small quake produced?!?
either way I am keeping a close eye on repeat behaviors/symptoms
