It not only wastes their time it also costs money to have a MO forged. Every one you can get off the streets is that much more money the thieves loose.
I was going to run the email header to see where this person is from but I see it's a Gmail email address. Gmail doesn't reveal the original IP#. If they contact you again you might want to tell them that Gmail doesn't work well with your email system or that Gmail is insecure and they need to open a secure yahoo email account. That often works when scam baiting to get them to an email account where you can track their whereabouts.
