They are fantastic dogs and with help from all the resources such as those here at Leerburg I am going to continue to hope my breed of choice has a fighting chance, mine have certainly have become better for it! What was supposed to be a happy news story is really just a disgusting display of s--t owners and a great dog. Thanks for the reality check! Someday I'd love to own a pit; I met a great one a year or so ago, visiting my sister in Wash state. Her loser roommate had supposedly saved this dog from dog fighting. He had so much energy and the guy was clueless how to own a dog (responsibly.) He'd leave him out in the fenced backyard all day, never walk him, then wonder why he was so wound up. While I was there I walked and ran him and did a little training. He was a natural! I would have adopted him if I could have. The guy moved out suspiciously one day, taking the dog with him. Whoa! Sorry for the trip down memory lane!
