My name is Angela, i was off the forum for a year and half. i am back now. first of all, i have to thank those members who replied my post regarding on correcting a dog which i trained. without ur input, i would not become a positive trainer now. i was glad that you guys gave me generous advice and your thoughts on the techniques i used.
i am from vancouver, canada. i have 2 dogs, one is 4 and 8 mths old pug, the other one is almost 4 yo golden retriever. i learned the dog training techniques from local dog training school. at the time i graduated, i still thought the techniques i learnt was great.there was nth wrong to use alpha roll over on dogs. after reading the replies from other members, i realized that there was something wrong with what i learnt. then i did research and reading books on positive training method. now i am a clicker trainer. if i didnt post the thread here, i would not realize how bad i was. right now i am so happy to train dogs, 'coz i dont have to watch dogs suffer from leash pop-up corrections, and they are happy to be trained. i still keep learning great training techniques as much as i can, also get myself knowledgeable on dog nutrition and dog health.
i am rdy to learn from other members too.
wish all the best to the members and merry christmas!!
