My 10 wk old American Bulldog is flying to TX from CA this week. He's from really solid working performance bloodlines. I've been doing a lot of research, talking to people, reading Leerburg stuff, watching videos, etc. I'll be training with a Schutzhund club. If anyone has insight into socializing AB's and puppy training timelines with the feisty critters, I'd love to hear about it.

I'd socailize him just like I would any other breed, bring him to the parks take him everywhere. Introduce him to all types of people and all ages, (I don't mean let them touch him) I mean bring him around them. At these different places you will encounter trains, planes, trucks, cars and loud noises, that go alone with large group settings.
Obedience trainning is a must for all large powerful working breed dogs. Keep it upbeat, fun and short no more 2-3 minutes, then build on that.
If you plan on protection training, you can start light puppy tug work now, light short session remember to always let the puppy win. The Am Bull dog is become one of the better street protection
dogs along with his cousin the Pit bull.
Good Luck in training <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
