I found this website a couple of weeks ago and read every article in it including most of the Q&A. It has been very informative and I am in the same page with the author through and through.
I had dogs ever since I can remember and spent a lot of time with them. I have a passion in training dogs and I have done research on their behaviours. I have also owned very aggressive dogs in the past and that prompted me to learn how to handle them properly. I learned these things through research and professional trainers. Fortunately, I am proud to say that none of my dogs has bitten anyone. See I never had to put a dog down because it was aggressive. Most of them died in old age. Some of the incidents I read in this site reminds me of some of my experiences and I can definitely relate.
I have never seen any website like this one before. Most of the ones I've seen doesn't have any form of solid foundation as to what they are saying to each other. People giving advices on top of wrong advices. Dangerous advices.
Despite some that may not agree entirely to the methods described here by the author, I think we are pretty much on the same boat.
I feel sorry to hear about people who let their dogs sleep in their beds, pull on the lead, jump at them and make this sound OK.
Just have a look at this thread. I've stopped answering them because I simply found that it is hopeless to make people accept some realities about dogs until it hits them or their family members. At some point I may have been a harsh but as I have pointed out in some of my replies, you won't take it seriously until you experience it. And I have. I have to learn it the hard way.
