Okay, we now have had our puppy from animal control exactly 7 days and in that time she started out with kennel cough, she was medicated for that, found worms in her stool, medicated for that, by the control center as the adoption is not "official" until she is spayed. I took her to our vet just for a check up and he did a stool sample found some other type of parasite and put her on 3cc of Abon twice a day, this was last Saturday, by Tuesday she had some blood before her stool, not in it and when I called the vet they said that it is probably the expulsion of parasites etc and that when he checked her temp it could have irritated her back there since she was jumping around so much. Well now last night she almost went in the house (just a little) but enough for me to see that although it was a small amount there was more mucus than stool tinted a light pink, not bright red blood. She ended up wanting out and trying to do her "big job" four times and each time she just did a little bit in a hours time, wasn't runny but softer than the day before. She is acting just as nutty as ever and full of energy, eating and drinking just fine, should I take her back again? Wait and see what tomorrow brings? I hate pumping her full of different meds at such a young age (10weeks) but don't want to miss something important. Anything I should watch for or should I go to the vet yet again?
Veterinary medical advice is best given by Vet's. No one on the forum is a Vet ( to my knowledge ) and Internet advice becomes a bit spotty when the potential for missing a possibly serious medical condition exists.
Honestly, talk to your vet here, they'll know to ask the right questions. Don't risk your puppies health in this case.
